ACCOMODATION AND TRAVELS DURING THE EVENT
All recommended accommodation regions lie within a 30–50 min taxi ride to the event venues and airport.
Please note that December-February is a peak tourist season in Kerala. So we highly recommend you to book in advance to secure good accomodation and rates. Kerala receives lots of international and even more domestic Indian tourists.
Note: Day 1’s venue is in a quaint village, so large hotels are scarce. Most properties there are small resorts, homestays, or boutique hotels.
Transportation: We will arrange group shuttle transportation during the event days, but you can also use Uber or other pre-booked taxi services.
Booking in groups: If possible, we recommend staying in groups, such as booking a 4 or 6-bedroom villa with hospitality options that can accommodate multiple families or couples. This can help to arrange logistics around the group shuttles.
2 different venues: As the events takes place in two different locations, you have to change accomodation on the 24th. We will organize group transfers after check out, so we all go to Fort Kochi together (its only a 1 hour ride). We curated a list below of some good properties in the different areas but you can also find more online.
How to book: We recommend booking properties either directly through official online payment or bank transfer (might be cheaper) or using online booking platforms like airbnb.com , booking.com, makemytrip.com , goibibo.com etc.
IN SUMMARY WE ADVISE THAT YOUR ACCOMODATIONS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:
22th - 24th : Stay in one of the three recommended areas near to Giby Farm
Shuttle from event 1 to event 2 will be arranged by us... no stress :)!
24th - 26th (or onwords): Stay in Fort Kochi

EVENT 1 (stay from 22th-24th)

Stay in one of the following three recommended areas from January 22-24th. The area is just a 30-50 minutes commute to the day 1 event venues and Cochin International Airport. There are many more properties in the areas, but Albin picked out his recommendations on the list below. You can also find many in online booking platforms like airbnb or booking.com or local websites mentioned below.
MUZIRIS: This region is believed to be the old Muzuris port which used to be a global trade hub during 1 BC with people from all faiths and cultures once settled here. Most of its remnants has been destroyed during the huge kerala floods in the 13th century. There are some properties on the banks of river Periyar that give you great sunrise, sunset views with optional boat rides, bird watching, cultural heritage and food tours. This quaint village area lies right in-between our two event venues thus making it an ideal area for stay.

CHERAI: There are plenty of properties in this area, but here is listed some good options. It used to be a nice beach village but unfortunately a lot of beaches in downtown Cherai have been washed away by the sea over the last 10 years and also it has become slightly crowded during the weekend. Still it’s a nice hub, a thin piece of land with sea on one side and lagoons on the other with several restaurants and bars.
ACCOMODATION:
Fort Kochi has plenty of properties within walking distance from our Day 3 church and reception venue, and you’ll find everything from homestays, guesthouses, hostels to heritage homes and luxury boutique hotels. January is busy (with both peak season and the Biennale), so we recommend locking in your room as soon as you can.
1. Church-Run Budget Option
(we can bulk book for you)
There’s a neat, church-run guesthouse nearby with 22 no-frills rooms at very low rates. This is the best of both worlds (comfort and budget). If you’d like us to reserve one for you, just let us know (first-come, first-serve).
