IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO

GETTING THERE

Nearest Airport: Cochin International Airport (COK). Event venues and accommodation areas lie within a 30–50 min uber/cab ride from COK.

Kerala state has four international airports which have connections to all major cities in the world through the middle-east or and within India through Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru airports.

Fun fact: world’s first fully solar-powered airport!

Please note that December-February is a peak tourist season in Kerala. So we highly recommend you to book flights as soon as possible to secure good rates.

VISA: Most visitors qualify for e-Tourist Visa on arrival.
Apply & learn more: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html (and yes this is the official website, the government still loves the 90's , who doesn't? ).

  • Feel free to contact us if you need a local address or contact in your visa application (but usually you can use the contact informations on your hotel).

Cash currency & Mobile connection: Almost all Indian vendors use digital payments, so we suggest to primarely use debit/credit cards (but off course its always a good idea to have some cash on you). As everywhere in the world, avoid airport currency exchanges if possible but use the atm's instead. If you need a mobile sim there are some stalls of major mobile providers (Airtel, Jio etc.) in the airport.

FLIGHT

Best & Fastest (Highly recommend): Direct flights to COK with transits in Middle-East hubs (Dubai–Emirates, Abu Dhabi–Etihad, Doha–Qatar, Muscat–Oman Air). You can do the immigration and luggage collection directly at COK upon arrival.

Alternative: Air India has some flights from all major cities with transit in Delhi airport. However, I would not recommend it if you want a fast and comfortable journey. You would have to clear immigration and recheck luggage in DEL airport before flying on to COK. In case you end up choosing this, remember to have at least 4 hours layover time in between flights in Delhi to be stress-free.

Getting from the airport: Its safe to use either prepaid taxi or uber from the airport. The best option is Uber or Ola cab (local app). Or prebook a driver through your hotel or one of the tour operators listed in the section below on transportation.

COK airport can be a great centre to do a 101 Kerala tourist trip (arrival & depart from COK). Most of the famous hill stations (Munnar, Thekkady, Idukki, Thattekad), backwater (Alleppey, Kumarakom, Kadamakudy), heritage sites like (Fort Kochi, Muziris) and beaches like (Marari, Thalikulam) etc are well reachable from this airport. There are also some adventure sports options in hill stations.

OTHER KERALA AIRPORTS

If you’re pairing the wedding with travelling around Kerala for beaches and temples in south Kerala or for the off-beat path with untouched beaches, villages, temples and theyyam festival tours in northern kerala (eg: Kannur).

Trivandrum Airport (TRV): perfect for beaches in Varkala, Kovalam area, adventure sports like surfing, scuba diving, paragliding etc, also kayaking in Munroe islands, old temple tours in Trivandrum etc—daily buses & trains between Kochi.

Calicut (CCJ) & Kannur (CNN): If you prefer great entry or out points for northern Kerala adventures. North Kerala has a lot of hidden gems since it wasn’t very much exposed to the larger tourism industry until now. You can find a lot of historic temples, martial art centers, great seafood, untouched beaches, hill stations and adventure sports in Wayanad, and witness the unique Theyyam festival. There are daily buses and train connections between Kochi.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Uber, Ola and Taxi are safe, but Uber and Ola are most recommendable because of the prices.

BOAT & FERRIES

BUS

Government & private operators. Private buses tend to be more comfortable.

Kochi Water Metro connects city waterways—ideal for Fort Kochi visits.

There are many private companies that do private boat tours in different parts of Kerala. Mostly, in the backwater areas. There are also some short private sunset sea cruise options in Kochi as well.

India’s rail network links all of Kerala and to other parts of the country except the mountainous regions. It has tiered classes from sleeper to AC cabins (ideal for long regional travel.). For example, you can use trains to travel between Kochi and the North or South part of Kerala or even to other parts of India.
